Will Burma be Free in 2010?

Burma (or Myanmmar as the thugs call it) is a country that seems to have been foresaken. As the country continues to struggle with economic calamity and extreme povertry, it just went on a buying binge from Russia. It bought MIG-29's. I wonder who their enemy is. Their biggest patrons are the Chinese and the Thais who are making bundles of money on the back of the Thais.

Now, as the Generals maintain their firm grip, what I find especially bothersome is a new rumour that the thugs are trying to acquire nuclear weapons. I am trying to track down the Al Jazeera report on it. It seems to me that General Swe and his gang seem to have their priorities twisted while keeping Aung San Suu Kyi under house arrest. I continue to wonder why some who wear the uniform of their country end up letting power get to their head. I have seen it in Burma and now in Guinea. Will Burma be free? Will it takes its right ful place as one of the tigers of Asia? Will 2010 be Burma's year?
