When Will Pakistan Get a Break?
Pakistan has just seen another suicide bombing in Peshawar. Over 20 People have died when suicide bombers targeted a funeral procession.
What is clear is that the fight for the soul of that region and Islam is not going to be won tomorrow. This is shown as the facade of the stability that was supposed to happen with the Obama Surge is simply not happening. Despite the apparent stability of the districts in Afghanistan, they remain outside of Kabul's Control. What is laughable is Karzai speaking up as the latest deaths occurred as a result of NATO action in Afghanistan.
As Afghanistan and Pakistan continue to spiral out of control, there seems to be no response to the war. Pakistan's ISI continues to support the Taliban. Afghan Taliban leaders are living in Pakistan. The Governments in Islamabad and Kabul seem to be so mired in corruption and self-preservation that they just don't care about the locals who have nothing to look forward to.
