The State of the Republicans
The Sunday Talk Shows on US Networks featured leading Repubican lumanires Lindsay Graham, Mitt Romney & Mitch McConnell. There was a lot that was discussed. The consesus was that they believe they have great ideas. They believe that they can provide an alternative to what the President is doing. They say that they have the necessary opening.
One of the key points of disagreements has been on healthcare. They say that there is a chance to reform it. They say that Wyden-Bennet is a strong alternative to what is being talked about now. Romney talked about how great the Massachutes Plan is working. The folks at the Physicans for a National Health Program have profound disagreements with the representations made by Mr. Romney.
There was some discussions on Meet the Press on who the leading luminaries are. There are a number of them out there right now. What is certain is that the Personal tragedies of Mark Sanford and John Ensign is a side show and will wither away. The need for Republicans to step up and engage in a true genuine debate is a responsible way to insure the vibrancy of the Democratic Process. It does get interesting as time passes.......
