The Plight of Euna Lee & Laura Ling
Euna Lee and Laura Ling are two reporters who work for Current TV. I just saw a dispatch that the North Koreans have convicted them of spying and sentenced them to 12 years hard labor. Current TV is the station that Al Gore, the Former U.S. Vice President, started a few years ago.
As I received this breaking news from the Washington Post, I checked Current TV and did not see anything on the plight of the two reporters. I found that surprising. I am sure, though, that Mr. Gore's detractors will find a way to criticize him yet again. I was laughing when Bill O'Reilly and Megyn Kelley, two Entertainers on Fox News, criticized him for being worth $ 100 Million Dollars. As I listened to those two, I saw the jeaolousy that was just simply sickening.
I am sure that Mr. Gore has wanted this to be low key so that hopefully the North Koreans will come to their senses. I am also certain that Mr. Gore will find out a way to get those two women back to their families for simply doing their job of trying to figure out the plight of North Korean refugees
It is a sad day yet again for Journalists. But, more importantly, it shows how utter hopeless the situation in North Korea is. King Kim II rumbles on with no end in sight.
