The New Media Battle In Iran
The President held a News Conference on Tuesday. I had a chance to listen to his News Conference and was particuarly keen to see his views on Iran. I have written about Iran in Outsider Views since the sham election that has seen protests not seen since the revolution. The "New Media" has continued to amaze me. New fronts are truly opening up. The White House posted this to underscore its' role in the Battle for the "hearts and minds":
I was also quite amazed when the White House actually called up the HuffPost Folks so that the President was able to answer a question on Iran. HuffPost has been at the forefront of this "battle", although the grassroot citizens movement that has been powered by Facebook and Twitter has been quite amazing. What has been the challenge is who to believe and who not to believe. There lies the continued challenge with all the information overload we all have to contend with in our own way.
