The French Elections: Now What?

Well...Now the Real Work Begins.....

Over the last couple of weeks, I have been assessing the French Elections. I wrote about as French Voters went to the poll. The French have handed Monsieur Sarkozy quite a defeat as he contemplates the second half of his Presidency.

The French Economy has profound challenges. Unemployment continues to be high. The so-called reforms seems to have gotten no where. It is this that I think drove the French to give Socialists almost total control of 21 regions of the Country. The question now becomes what will happen now? How would Sarkozy change course? Would he pull a Clinton or continue to act as if he is the State?

For now, what he has done is to replace the Labor Minister. I would be keen to see what he has to say after the Wednesday Cabinet Meeting.
