The Education of Tim Pawlenty

The Future of the Republican Party?

One of the rising stars in the Republican Party, Tim Pawlenty, has declared his intention not to run for re-election. I think he is one of the ones to watch. Although Governor Palin will continue to grab the headlines, he is one of those guys who has played his cards right.

One of the things that especially has caught my eye was when he urged Republicans to be the party of Sam's Club" not just the country club. Some within the Republican Party may reject this view. But, Michael Steele and other Republicans in Power seem to reject the Rush Limbaugh Doctrine of a narrow, fringe ideological perspective. Tim Pawlenty seems to also realize that. Time will tell.
