SP Week-End (6/27/2010): The Courage of El-Baradi
So much for wanting to take a week off to focus on Quarter-End Closing!!!
The Work is too important and the objective too crucial not to write about and report on it for our ever-growing community and the responsbility at hand for building a credible and proactive New Media platform.
Alexandria, Egypt saw a major demonstration against police brutality. It was led by Mohammad El-Baradi, the former IAEA chief who has become a key opposition leader now that he's back in Egypt. I was amazed to see the turnout and the courage. This is in light of the fact that Egypt's emergency laws was again renewed for two years. The bigger picture is the lack of Pan Arab Unity as Israel continues its' destructive policies. Turkey and Iran are trying to fill the gap. But, the fact remains that until Egypt begins to truly act like an Arab leader, nothing will change and each Arab leader will sing its own tune.
