SP Week-End (11/26/2010): Worried About Mother Earth
With all that has gone on over the last few months, it seems as if the calamity faced by Mother Earth seems to have fallen by the wayside. But, the Earth seems to talk back at us in more than we could imagine.
Over the past few months, there has been a major eruption in Indonesia. Seas continues to rise. This has been the hottest year on record. Yet, somehow, those who believe that somehow this is all a hoax continue to hold sway over it all. With some of the more immediate concerns I commented on SP's sister sites, Outsider Views & Kitten Politics, no one should be blamed for no thinking about mundane issues like the environment, human justice and equality.
What I continue to be amazed at is how greed continues to dominate. One example of it is the death of the 29 brave souls in New Zealand. There were 3 explosions. Mother Earth is telling us to leave her alone. Let's try and figure out a better way to manage it. What I am trying to understand is how Mother Earth is being bled to death to satisfy the short term vanity and profits of a few.
Why can't we understand what Chief Seattle Told us:

Why can't we understand what Chief Seattle Told us:
Humankind has not woven the web of life.
We are but one thread within it.
Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.
All things are bound together.
All things connect.
