SP Week-End (11/21/2010): On Afghanistan
I decided to focus this on Afghanistan, because what has been happening in the Country is beyond sad. It is absolutely a disgrace.
As I write this, Al Jazeera is reporting that over 1.3 Million Ballots have been disqualified. As I listen to the Correspodent, I was simply sickened. This is as I see the continued cost in blood and treasure to all the countries in the World trying to fight the battle. One of the candidates disqualified is a Cousin of Karzai, the so-called President.
The U.S. has committed to a full withdrawal by 2014. There is a U.S. Policy review is scheduled for next month too to assess the viability of the drawdown supposedly scheduled for July 2011. I will be keen to see what the result of that policy entails. I view the current road to be unsustainable.
