SP View (3/4/2010): As Earth Day Approaches....
Earth Day is fast approaching. This is a pivotal time for our Earth especially as we have witness to two major earthquakes. The earthquake in Chile was of such magntitude that it actually shortened the day by a few minutes.
One of the companies that I have been fascinated by is a company called Makani Power. It is a Wind Power company that has been supported by Google. One of their "Kites" powered a ship used by a shipper for GE, Beluga Shipping. Fuel savings were forecast to be around 35%. This is just one example of the emerging field of Green Technology that is vital if Earth is to survive its recent calamity.
Climate change is real. It is not a laughing matter to be dismissed. The need to be innovative and responsible is ever more. Over the next thirty days, I will be talking about it as the World embraces Earth Day on April 25.
