SP Newsflash (1/28/2011): The Palestine Papers: The Aftermath
The Palestine Papers have been released by Al Jazeera. I released a write-up on it earlier on SP's sister site, Outsider Views. The extent of the hypocracy of the so-called Peace Process and how little crediblity the US has on the street is something that I have realized for a long time.
What is clear is how powerful Israel is. Despite all that the Palestinians offered, Israel continued to say no. What George W. Bush referred to as the true realities on the ground continues to be ever more as the Wall goes up and settlements expand with no end in sight. The ellusive goal that President Obama laid out is yet to be recongized as Israel continues to do whatever it pleases under the protective arm of the United States.
Palestinians have been working against overwhelming odds. It is clear that unless something drastic changes, not much is going to change as the true realities take hold. What would happen to the Palestinians?
