Sp Newsflash (1/25/2010): John McCain's Primary Fight....
Over the week-end, J.D. Hayworth made it official: He is challenging John McCain for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate from the State of Arizona. J.D. Hayworth is a former Congressman who is supported by the teabagger movement and is questioning John McCain's conservative credentials.
Not withstanding the local issues, what makes this interesting is how the teabaggers are beginning to dominate the Republican Party. According to Dick Armey, Teabaggers are polling more than the Republicans. Dick Armey, the former Texas Congressman, is the man leading the teabagger movement. Although Republicans are really hpefully to gain seats, I think that they have to first resolve their own internal turf battles before setting their eyes on the Democrats. The Democrats do not necessarily have clean hands either. They are running scared and cannot get their act together--which may come back to haunt them.
Polling is going on all the time by all sides. The only real poll that matters is the one on election day. The campaigns, though, will provide some indication of the visions all leaders are faced with. The choices are quite stark.
