SP Newsflash (1/25/2010): Bernake: Much ado about nothing....
In making the Virtual rounds of the Sunday Public Affairs Shows in the U.S., one of the key questions that came up was about Ben Bernake. President Obama nominated him for a second term as Chairman of the Federal Reserve.
After being hailed as a hero for his uncoventional stance, now the man is being villifed. I regard his work in stepping in as vital to have saved us from the brink of depression. A number of Senators made noises about not approving him for a second term. This is on top of moves in Congress to take away the independence of the Fed.
The vote is coming up within the next few days. I think the Fed Chairman will get his second term. What he does with it is another question.
