Pakistan: The Next Domino
Pakistan has largely fallen off the radar screen as Tunisia and Egypt have been dominating the news. Tunisia and Egypt were a matter of time before they fell. But, Pakistan is a more important issue that needs to be looked at to avoid what happened to Egypt.
Pakistan is the second largest Muslim Country in the World. The Government is totally dysfunctional. The insurgency continues to rage on with no apparent end in sight. As the insurgency rages on, Pakistan's Useless President had time to fly out to attend the remembrance for Richard Holbrooke. I wrote a tribute to Ambassador Holbrooke. But, the problem is that Zardari has no clue and does not understand how terrible things have been and continue to be ever more.
Pakistan is being increasingly radicalized. I was shocked to see how the man who assassinated Salman Taheer was treated as a hero. Salman Taheer's Killer was an elite member of the Pakistani Police. If the opponents of the Government have penetrated the police in such a way, then no one is safe. The head of Gallup Pakistan has recently noted how not to underestimate the religious views of the Pakistanis. This is as Pakistan continues to develop its nuclear arsenal.
