McLaughlin says Obama white on the inside and black on the outside
McLaughlin has decided that he is the Oracle when it comes to black people by depicting Senator Barack Obama as an Oreo. Clearly, McLaughlin hasn’t spoken to many black people to support his version of how black people view Senator Obama. Senator Obama has an approval rating in the black community close to 90 percent. McLaughlin's opinion is black people perceive anyone who is educated and successful as being "white on the inside.” How ignorant and insulting this is? McLaughlin has no clue what black people think. To bring up the Oreo stereotype isn’t even relevant comparison in this case. If there is something in the year 2008 which would classify it as being “white on the inside,” it would be to completely deny your blackness and not show empathy to the issues of the black community. It would be to completely exclude your culture from any aspect of your life including spiritual and social.
