Mr. Obama goes to the Capitol........

President Obama will be speaking to a Joint Session of the US Congress next Wednesday to talk about Healthcare. As I checked on the townhalls, listened to the pundits and checked out the provisions of the bill, I was struck by how the momentum got sucked out of this. I was struck by how both sides of the political spectrum spoke up and attacked the public option. I was further struck by how they attacked the British National Health Service and the Canadian Health Service. Right now, things are all up in the air. This shows the extent of the compromise that is being talked about by the White House:

Everyone has said that the road we're on now is the road to no where. Yet, no one seems to have an answer to what needs to be done differently by hiding behind misrepresentations and mischaracterizations. That's the sad part of it all. I wonder if the President can rescue this from near death.
