Malema: What a Fool
The leader of the African National Congress Youth Wing, Malema, has been quite vocal in his revolutionary zeal to get the boers (also known as Whites) out of South Africa. Malema seems to either not understand or not care about the long term development of his country.
I saw him recently making the rounds in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe continues to deal with immense difficulties as it grabbles with years of misrule and the resulting economy misery it has caused. Malema seems to be cut from the same cloth as Mugabe. The guys seem to claim the mantra of a revolutionary, yet have no clue about what a revolutionary truly is. A Revolutionary is someone who accepts dissent, who understands others have a right to live and will insure that all have equal opportunity. Does Malema truly understand that or not? I doubt it.
Jacob Zuma told him to basically shut up. Malema seems to have ignored his advise. It seems to me that Malema and his thugs need to focus on the country and not add fuel to a fire that has cost over 3,000 farmers, an exodus of the White Intelligensia, a crime spree that seems unstoppable and corruption that continues to be ever more rampant. Does Malema understand that or does he think that singing a song will magically cure his country's ills? Based on what I have seen of him, the answer is a resounding no.
The biggest tragedy for South Africa is how Mandela's heirs seem to have betrayed the very principles that Mandela preached. Will they wake up?
