Iran: The Struggle For Human Rights
Iran continues to be in a state of flux. As the media focuses on Haiti, on Afghanistan and the U.S Senate election, Iran continues to muzzle dissent and pushes along a concerted campaign to insure that the Regime survives. I was amused by the threat by the Iranian Foreign Minister to downgrade relations with the UK. The Iranian Government is also being as belligrent as it can be on the nuclear question as well.
As the 10-day anniversary to celebrate the revolution draws near, the oppostion is galvanized though. As this beautiful Video shows, the people continue to be aroused:
Although the music video is in Farsi, the images are powerful and the message is clear: the will of the people will prevail. It will take time. People will die. But, as Dr. King's struggle for civil rights in the United States showed, right will eventually prevail over might. This is a struggle for Civil Rights and Human Rights. It is right, it is just and it will happen.
