What the Democrats Should Do About Sarah Palin
Everyone seems to be up in arms about the little known, moose stew making, self proclaimed hockey mom the Republican pundits have chosen to run with McCain(Note that during his introduction of her, he had to read her name off of a piece of paper) . I need not go into details about her professional history or scandalous investigation. I am sure you’ve already read all about the details in the hundreds of other political blogs.
Now that McCain has chosen her, there is a lot of speculation as to how the democrats should approach having her on the ticket. My answer is simply ignoring her as much as possible. She is a non-issue. Hillary Clinton’s “Party Unity My A**” group are non-existent at this point.
The other women realize that this woman is attempting to essential ride on Hillary’s coat tails to the White House. She will only have to endure a two-month campaign (as oppose to Hillary’s 19 months) and you can’t compare Hillary’s credentials to hers without making Palin look like a pawn. I have faith in the American women who were Hillary supporters. We will vote for the issues that Hillary Clinton has fought for her entire life. We will not vote for someone simply because they have the same body parts as we do. This election is far too important.
Coming down hard on a female with five children, one 4 month old, down syndrome will make them look like monsters. The Democrats should consider Palin's nomination a gift, but only if they play their cards right.
