Feeling Sorry For Franklin Graham
Franklin Graham is the son of Billy Graham, the iconic American Evangelist. Billy Graham was a confidant of at least seven U.S. Presidents and Franklin has taken up Billy Graham's Work.
As a man of faith, he has been a disappointment. His views of Islam are unfortunate and frankly, dishonorable. A man of faith has to embrace all religions and faiths. Yet, Mr. Graham called out Islam to be an "Evil Religion" during an appearance on CNN. There is a move now to disinvite him to a National Prayer Breakfast event at the Pentagon. I hope the U.S. Army does that because to invite this man means that over 1.1 Billion People who are of the Islamic Faith will be insulted. What Mr. Graham should do is to re-educate himself about The Bible too:
Mr. Graham should also take the time to read what leading modern-day Islamic thinkers like Tariq Ramadan, Adam Habib and others have done to provide the true voice of Islam. What Mr. Graham also fails to understand is that a central tenant of Islam is an appreciation and embrace of all faiths. Jesus Christ is specifically mentioned. It seems to me that he ought to live up to his true calling to be compassionate to all, understanding and appreciative of all faiths. If he embraces that, he would have then lived up to the true legacy of his iconic father. I feel sorry for his ignorance and total lack of understanding.
