Do You Think Race Will Be A Factor In This Year's Election?
I chose this photo intentionally. If it strikes a nerve, maybe you should think about why. It is no secret I am a fan of Senator Barack Obama. If you are looking for reasons to vote for him go to www.barackobama.com . I have written a blog discussing why I believe he should be the next President of the United States. I have often heard people say, "there is just something about Obama.” Do you think that something is subconscious racism? Do you think that people would not vote for him simply because of his race? I have received emails of a caricature of Obama talking about how he has to change the name of the White House to the Black House. Fox News www.foxnews.com has referred to the wife of a President candidate as his "baby mama.”
Obviously a racial remark. Obama is leading in the polls right now, however, when it comes down to actually voting, do you believe that the American public will vote for a black man?
Unfortunately, I believe there are people who will not. I am actually sick and tired of reading articles on www.msnbc.com and www.cnn.com on what demographic is voting for whom. It is obvious that some white people had to have voted for Barack Obama because blacks only make up 12% of the population. America has come very far in race relations over the years. The thought of having a black man be the nominee of a major democratic party was unimaginable. We are definitely not were we were forty years ago, but we are not where we should be. What does the rest of America think? Please let me know.

That and the whole race thing, bringing race into it is just lame.

From an outsider looking in - it appears that no matter which way the Democratic vote went - the media were going to beat up either the whole Black v White debate or the Male v Female issue - which probably says more about press than anything else and the political influences structuring their agendas.
My only fear is that should Senator Obama be elected the next leader of the free world, that it won't be long before we see some loony try a reprise of the man on the grassy knoll.
I hope I'm wrong.

It's implicative.
Good points there. There are Republicans and Democrats who still don't know the issues. Race is an issue this year but lets face it, do people ever vote on the issues?
