Has Barack Obama’s Media Coverage Been Racist?

obama racist media coverage
Face Reality By Laurie Cooper

Several of my posts have talked about some the absurd accusations and information perpetuated by the media when it comes to Senator Barack Obama. Many of them question Barack Obama’s patriotism without real merit. Senator Obama has always been a community servant. They question his intelligence. He graduated from Princeton and from Harvard law school. The last time I checked those two schools were not pushing out dummies. A man was following Senator Obama and urging him to stop while it was obvious the senator was in a hurry. After several attempts to politely decline the mans requests to stop his said something to the effect of “Hey come on fella.” On several news stations that day, it was reported that Barack Obama lost his temper. Not quite what most reasonable people would consider a blow up. Barack Obama, a virtually unknown Senator was thought not to be a contender in the democratic race for a Presidential nominee, beat out Hillary Clinton. Clinton is a woman with Washington connections and experience in her own right as well as the wife of former President Bill Clinton. Yet pundits and the media suggest there is no way Barack Obama can win the general election without her.

In my opinion, some of the media coverage is definitely racial biased. Most reasonable people will admit that minorities cannot afford to show any stereotypical behavior in public. For example, a female executive knows that no matter how tough things may get at work she can never allow her colleagues to see her crying. Obama could not ever really lose his temper in public without being seen as the angry black guy. The fact that he did not allow this fellow to steam roll over him does not make him an angry man however the media chose to report that he lost his temper. Comments like that play on the fears of he unenlightened. The American public must read between the lines and not buy into the media hype.

Interesting, but wouldn't you say that Clinton was shown doing something typically "woman" as well when she cried? Or for that matter, McCain something typically "old" when he stumbled on words? I would say that the media focusing on lack of patience or intelligence could be seen as showing his youth rather than race.

Josie, the media has shown those things because they are true. When Hillary cried, I as a woman cringed. Its a women in the work place no no. John McCain has long had a reputation of having a bad temper way before he was running for President.
Its the interpretation. When did 46 become young? He has two degrees from Ivy league schools, he's obviously intelligent. Now if the media wanted to point out where he was inaccurate about the facts in an issue to make a mark on his experience, that would be fair. Or if Obama had told the man to get the f**k out my face you could say he lost his temper. Or maybe if he got his GED from a mail in home kit you might be able to say he wasn't intelligent, but none of those things are true and they all have been blown out of porportion
