Afghanistan/Pakistan: How Long?
This morning's New York Times has a front page story about how Hamid Karzai's family has risen in power throughout his tenure in office. They seem to be, now, the new Royal Family.
As I have written here and in other segments of "outsiders", the continued misguided policies of the United States is propping up a man who is suspect at best. As I write this, I note that the costs are almost at 1 Trillion 90 Billion Dollars!!
Despite all that is going on, the War rages on while Karzai and his family continue to enrich themselves. This is as the Drone Wars continue. NATO convoys have been torched that has contained fuel. They have to get through Pakistan. Pakistan has been the subject of drone attacks in a major way that has caused people to be killed. The question is how long can this be sustained?
