A Retrospective on "Outsiders"
When I began this journey, I did not know where I was going to end up. Yet, throughout "outsiders", I have been trying to write about our world, about understanding our World and the insights have led me to be ever more thirsty to understand, to reflect and to embrace.
I have periodically written to reinforce the mission and the objectives of "Outsiders". I have tried to find and fashion a "third way" that brings the best of everything out there because there are those like Tariq Ali who have constantly reminded the rest of us of the need to be just, compassionate and understanding:
As I have reflected upon this, I was not as presumptious as Nizar Qabbani to Conquer the World with my Words. I have, however, wanted to think through the future because the need to be a responsible citizen is every more crucial here and now. I conclude this perspective with the very words that we must embrace though to realize how important the need to communicate truly is:
I Conquer The World With Words
I conquer the mother tongue,
verbs, nouns, syntax.
I sweep away the beginning of things
and with a new language
that has the music of water the message of fire
I light the coming age
and stop time in your eyes
and wipe away the line
that separates
time from this single moment.
